To launch Katie’s Art Project™ in 2011, we held a 400 person benefit to raise money for programming created in collaboration with Broadway in South Africa, Camp Sunrise, Kids Performing Who Kare, and R.Evolucion Latina and sponsored by Groupon. The event was held at New World Stages the one night only event hosted by Tony Nominee Robin De Jesus featured performances by Tony Nominees and Winners, Karen Olivo, Chris Jackson and performances by the Kids Performing Who Kare troupe started by a pediatric cancer survivor. We raised $13,000 that went directly to arts programing for kids facing terminal illnesses and underprivileged youth of America and Africa.
